19 Sep The Nature of Reality by Paul Romano
Private view: 5.30 – 8pm, Thursday 19th September.
Paul Romano is an established artist working from his studio in the heart of Liverpool.
His new work will be presented here at Editions doesn’t have any specific intentions, nor does it try to depict literal scenes, so if when you look and see faces or other objects emerging from the vibrant colours and shapes, it could be deliberate or just a happy accident.
In Paul’s own words “everytime I come back to them, I see something different”.
Paul sites his infulences as quite an important part of his creative process. He says artists such as Picasso, Miro, De’Stael, Appel, The Abstract Expressionists and Egyptian art, have had a very strong impact on his work.
His approach to painting is very organic, so much so that many of his canvases have been worked over repeatedly and redeveloped.
Paul seldom exhibits outside the North West, but has works in private collections in London, New York and the Far East.
